Born in Tokyo in 1958. President of the Shigemori Garden Research Institute. Part-time teacher at the Kyoto Institute of Technology. Grandson of Mirei Shigemori, a famous garden designer and historian. His garden creations include the Zuishoden Garden of Matsunoo Taisha Shrine (Kyoto), the Jakko-no-niwa Garden of Chohoji Temple (Wakayama), Kyukokai Imamura Hospital (Akita) and the Zuien-no-niwa Garden of Shinnyodo Temple (Kyoto), among others.
