Everything about this watch expresses the beauty of nature as seen from the Japanese perspective and nowhere more than on the dial. Its color reflects not only the autumn leaves in Japan but also the way that their color is reflected in the wooden floors in traditional Japanese homes.

The heart of the watch is the 9S85 hi-beat mechanical movement which can be seen through the exhibition case back. It ticks softly, with every one of its 36,000 beats per hour marking another tiny step of the transition from one season to the next. In the mountainous region of Japan, summer turns very quickly to Autumn and the changing colors of the maple and other trees are all the more vivid as a result. As you gaze into the depth of the dial’s red color, and listen to the gentle ticking sound of the high beat movement, you are transported deep into the forests where leaves crackle underfoot and the deer moan softly as they settle in for winter. This watch does indeed express the very nature of time.
